MANILA, Philippines (UPDATE) - Dionesia Pacquiao, mother of boxing champion Manny Pacquiao, lost consciousness during the Pacquiao-Margarito bout in Dallas, Texas on Saturday (Sunday Philippine time).
She has regained consciousness, radio dzMM reported.
Celebrity doctor Vicki Belo also confirmed that Manny's mom is now conscious.
"Mommy d awake . Just feeling weak . Kept here in the hospital for more tests. Thanks for prayers," Belo tweeted.
Reports of Dionesia's condition first broken by Belo, in her Twitter account twitter.com/vicki_belo.
In one tweet, Belo said "Mommy diönisia is unconscious. . I don t know if its cuz she prayed too much or she s having an attack," just minutes after the fight ended.
A few minutes later, Belo tweted, "She has not regained consciousness. Please pray for mommy d."
Belo, along with her daughter Cristalle, was among those in the front row of the fight, held at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium.
This is the first time Dionesia Pacquiao has watched Manny's fight.
