MANILA, Philippines – The Edsa Shangri-La Manila has refuted the rumor that American musician John Mayer and his entourage trashed one of its hotel rooms during their stay.
Through its Director of Communications Lesley Anne Y. Tan, the Edsa Shangri-La Manila issued an official statement on the matter that read: “Such allegations are completely false and untrue.”
“We are happy to have welcomed the internationally renowned Mr. Mayer and to have partnered in his successful Manila tour.”
Rumor has it that Mayer and his entourage destroyed furniture in the hotel’s presidential suite worth PHP 300,000 when they were here for their concert last Oct. 1.
More, Mayer was supposedly very rude to the hotel and media staff.

The report was supported by Harold Geronimo, said to be a lifestyle columnist of Manila Standard Today who tweeted about the matter.
“Confirmed: Singer John Mayer paid almost US8000 for destroying furniture & fixtures in d Presidential Suite of EDSA Shangrila Manila,” he tweeted.
Geronimo added, “Mayer apparently ran wild inside the Presidential Suite, broke expensive vases, lamps, desks etc.” This allegedly resulted to the temporary closure of the suite.
According to Geronimo’s tweets, his source is from within “the group.”
Mayer is the awarded singer-songwriter behind the hit songs “No Such Thing,” “Your Body Is A Wonderland,” and “Waiting On The World To Change.”
